Talking about the family unit is almost taboo at this point. If we don't praise all family types, we are harshly criticized and labeled as some kind of "ist." The specific title changes quicker than the ideas of marriage and family. Although counter-intuitive, society rarely changes expectations or standards due to family and family relations.
In defense of society, finding the truth can be incredibly difficult. There is significant bias on both sides of the investigation, and if you look hard enough, there is a good chance you can find a study that supports your way of thinking. That being said, if you look a little bit harder than that, you can get to the bottom of the truth.
An essential part of learning- anything, especially family and family relations- is knowing how to verify data. At this point, you are probably wondering why a blog about family relations. Throughout these next three months, I will be sharing studies and data about family relations and how I use that to come to my conclusions. Just as much, you should not believe anything you read.
